Loosing Stomach Fat

Does cardio lose stomach fat?

Diet alone cannot make you slim. You have to get daily exercise. Daily exercise and walking are sure to burn fat which is present in our abdomen.

If you view exercise as a punishment for being fat and a time-consuming act which will only cause you aching muscles and joint tenderness, then you might want to change your view. There are numerous ways to enjoy exercise which enable you to burn fat faster. Not only do you enjoy the benefits of a healthy, trim body later on, you also share precious moments with your loved ones and meet other people through these activities.

The exercise activities being referred to here were once mistakenly known as aerobic exercises in general. However, the proper term being used recently is cardio exercise. Cardio exercises are just simple outdoor exercise activities which are guaranteed to burn a lot of your calories and eliminate the flabs in your abdomen.

These highly energetic exercises are termed as cardio exercises because performance of these activities enables you to exercise your heart muscles, thus improving your body’s circulation.

Examples of cardio exercises are running, bicycling, aerobics, rowing, swimming, rock climbing, walking and ball games. Your choice of cardio exercises will depend on your lifestyle and on your choice of enjoyment and satisfaction. All these cardio exercises share one thing—they burn a lot of energy, make you sweat out a lot, increase your heart rate and metabolism and are sure to make you lose stomach fat.

How do these cardio exercises burn fat? Cardio exercises, as mentioned before, speed up the heart rate and thus speed up one’s metabolism. The reason for this is that when you do vigorous exercise, you burn calories and in the process, need a lot of oxygen to supply your body tissues. If there is an increased demand for oxygen and nutrients due to stress, your body compensates through increased work of breathing, an increased heart rate and an increased blood pressure. You sweat out a lot because of the fat burning process. If you increase your metabolism, your body will also burn fat faster to compensate for the energy expenditure. Once you burn your fat faster, the first one to burn is your belly fat—and you’re sure to trim your waistline!

However, before starting any of the cardio exercises mentioned in this article, be sure to consult a physician first especially if you have medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, a history of stroke and heart problems and if you are greater than 45 years old.

One of the best cardio exercises is running. Running does not involve any kind of exercise equipment, yet it increases your stamina to exercise, asides from its fat burning properties. It is said that a 145-lb person can burn 300 calories at 5.2 mph in 30 minutes.

Another form of cardio exercise is bicycling. Bicycling outdoors provide a great cardio exercise which can burn 250-500 calories in 30 minutes. Bicycling also builds your body’s resistance to stress. Swimming is a full body cardio-exercise which can lose up to 400 calories in 30 minutes.Rowing in the gym can speed up your heart rate and can burn 300 calories in 3e0 minutes.

Even brisk walking can burn 180 calories in 30 minutes. Jogging can increase the amount of calories you burn. When walking, it is best to assume good posture in order to avoid low back pain and other back and spine problems.
